Recently I was introduced to a wonderful health supplement and I’d just like to share it with you today. It’s called GBG and is a 10-in-1 multi-vitamin liquid.

Now, usually liquid vitamin stuff tastes pretty nasty so I was skeptical but in my quest to find something that I could take once a day, easily and quickly, I decided to give it a try. Mostly because a friend of mine was promoting it and I knew she only promoted great stuff.

I checked out the website and found it costs a mere $19.99 a bottle – a month’s supply, which is WAY less than what I have paying for supplements. I really liked the fact that it was all in one and I wouldn’t have to buy 5, 6, or 7 different bottles of stuff. In the past several months, I’ve spent $60 – $100 on supplements. And as I looked over the ingredients, I found that about 90% of what I usually take is in this one product. It seemed like a no-brainer to me.

My product arrived via UPS very quickly and I opened it right away. I was completely surprised when it actually tasted good! It tastes like fruit juice. I’ve drank it straight, put it in my smoothies and even in my juice.

Apple officially announced a new iPod today. The iPod Touch. From what I read/watched on Gizmodo, it looks really cool. Basically, it’s like an iPhone without the phone part. Even has Wi-Fi, iTunes and the iPhone’s Safari browser.

Steve Jobs also announced a price drop of $200 to iPhone! That’s huge! But . . .

I do not have an iPhone and I don’t plan on buying one (although if I did get a new phone, it would be the one) – I’m not really a phone type of gal. I have a pre-paid cell phone because I just don’t use it that much and can’t see spending a bazillion dollars a month on something I rarely use. But this new iPod Touch – now THAT I could use! It’s now on my must have wish list.

This is not what I intended to write about today, but I just had to share another cool tool – Quicksilver. Now, if you’re not on a Mac, this will mean nothing to you but read on anyway.

I have had Quicksilver installed for months but never really knew how to use it. Just hadn’t had the time to figure it out or look at any tutorials for it. Anyway – I saw Ed use it a week or so during one of the 30dc videos and thought I really should learn how to use it.

Well, let me tell you – it’s really cool. I can find any THING on my computer, launch any program on my hard drive with just a few keystrokes. Very cool.

If you’ve read my previous posts, you know I’ve mentioned a blogging platform called blog i360. I use it for my TheWritePoint.com website – a site about writing/copywriting/editing etc – that had been sitting dormant for a year or so because I really had no idea what to do with it nor how to implement any of the ideas I did have from time to time.

A couple of months ago, I was introduced to New Media Marketing and Blog interactive 360 by a friend of mine. Since then, I’ve met the owners Deb and JP Micek on Myspace – great people! Although I have not gotten TWP up and running exactly as I want it yet (mostly due to concentrating on the 30dc all month), I know blog i360 is the way to do so and I hope to have it finished by next week.

In my research for the 30 Day Challenge, I’ve read many, many Terms of Service agreements for a variety of web and blog platforms. And quite a lot of them state that there are to be no affiliate links on your site or blog. Now, if you’re an internet marketer or even someone who is just hoping to make a few dollars here and there, that could be a problem.

But here is what I have found in my 4+ years of blogging.

It’s often not that they don’t want you to have affiliate links at all. The problem is when that’s ALL you have and all you do with your site. If you carry on a normal, daily conversation with readers and discuss normal, daily things in your personal and professional life, an affiliate link now and then isn’t so bad. And most of those hosts – there are a few exceptions – will be ok with that.

On the other hand, when you blatently use the site for the sole purpose of selling a product, it becomes a problem and you’re likely to violate the TOS. Your site may even be pulled or suspended. And they will tell you that your site is spam. Nobody wants that.

So the best advice I can give is to make sure your site is not “salesy” and doesn’t smack of useless info that turns people off. Because you can bet that if it violates the TOS and the host calls it spam, readers won’t find much value in it, either.

The Usefulness of Twitter

You know, I wasn’t sure of the usefulness of Twitter when I first heard about it. Seemed like a huge waste of space and time. But I signed up anyway and installed a desktop client so I didn’t have to have the browser open all the time to follow along.

Even so, I fully expected the novelty to wear off in a few days and it would go quietly into the night as such programs often do.

Boy, was I surprised!

It’s still hanging around my desktop via Twitterific (an app for Mac), chirping away every time someone sends a twitter. And I quite enjoy it being there.

And I have found, it is VERY useful.

Right, you say?

Well . . . yes, it is!

See, it’s good for networking, exploring websites, learning, communication, sharing, and it has become of those “social best friends” Ed Dale talks about in the 30 Day Challenge. Those friends that get you into the nightclub.

I have found websites I probably would not know anything about otherwise. I’ve met new friends and business associates who have similar interests and formed networks that will be useful long after the 30dc is over. It enables me to quickly and easily share tidbits that could be helpful for others too.

And besides all of that, it’s just fun! Because when you get down to it, isn’t that what life is about? Having fun, making friends and building networks.

You know, it’s really too bad Marco is so narrow minded because the Tumblr interface is so nice and easy to work with. I really wouldn’t mind having a regular blog there.

And I know I said I was going to steer clear of Tumblr yesterday in my little rant, but it’s hard to be mad at something you like. It’s like being mad at one of your kids – you’re mad for a while but you still love them nonetheless and pretty soon, all is well again. You can’t even find a little spark there later on and whatever was done, falls by the wayside, to be forgotten.

Not that I’m forgetting Tumblr’s mash slashing anytime soon. I don’t love them that much. But I *may* consider using them for stuff I want to keep track of that just doesn’t fit anywhere else.

Unless someone can tell me of another service that is as clean and user friendly . . . ?

Tumblr. At first glance, it looks like a reputable service. The weekend maniacal deletion of several hundred newly created blogs proves otherwise.

With a sleek design and very streamlined interface, it’s quite appealing. But the business practices of Tumblr’s lead developer, Marco Arment leave a bad taste in my mouth and at this point, I will not recommend them nor use them.

To think my blog could be suspended at whim with no explanation – apparently AGAINST their own Terms of Service – is not a thought I care to explore.

Without a doubt, this practice is utterly wrong, rude, and hypocritical.

In fact, their TOS clearly state that if there is a problem with your blog, they will advise you via email and give you 72 hours to correct the issues.

Apparently those are just empty words. Empty words that are a front for a horrid business practice, one that clearly shows they will do whatever strikes them at the moment regardless as to what is right or moral.

The bottom line – stay away from Tumblr. They’ve obviously shown they cannot be trusted.

Yesterday I mentioned a Copywriting program that I just started and I wanted to take a moment to chat it up a little bit here. And yes, I know I’m not following Ed’s rule that your first sentence include your headline words but oh well! As they say, rules were meant to be broken.

Ok – so I’m a bit of a smarty pants.

But aside from that, I recently started a brand new copywriting training called G4. Now, I’m not entirely sure what G4 stands for, but I’ve been a part of this particular persons newsletter and open forum for a couple of years and have learned a lot of them so it was rather exciting when the new program was introduced. I signed up IMMEDIATELY and we just had our first teleconference. The brand new members only forum and training site was just opened as well and it’s AWESOME!

Inside the members area, you get several hours worth of training videos where you’re taken step-by-step through the process of copywriting. I’ve watched a couple of the videos already and they are great. It’s definitely the program that will take my business to the next level.

As you can probably see, August is a busy month for me! Not only am I doing this copywriting course, I’m doing the 30 Day Challenge and taking one other training (which I’m going to talk about in another post this week). All of this is part of my plan to skyrocket my business into a multi-faceted, multiple income stream powerhouse.

And, yes, it’s working!
